Characteristics of wood

Limba (other names: afara, korina, akom, ofram) — a moderately dense wood species native to tropical East Africa. The heartwood is light yellow to golden brown, sometimes with gray or almost black spots. Sapwood from pale gray to brown, differs slightly from the heartwood. Color darkens with time. The grains are straight, sometimes interlocked. The texture is uniform and rough. The surface is slightly shiny. The core rays are diffused-porous, pronounced.
