Sliced veneer made of lati — very decorative, with pronounced grains, slightly rough and matte. It is very similar to wenge, only with golden-yellow color. Easy to process manually and on machines. Suitable for gluing, polishing, staining, impregnation, varnishing. It is not steady when bent by steam. It is prone to cracking, so pre-drilling is required before using fasteners.

Characteristics of wood

Lati, or white wenge, is common in eastern and central Africa. The heartwood is yellow-golden brown, often with white marks that darken with age. Sapwood 5-8 cm wide, white-yellow. The grains are usually straight, sometimes interlocked. The texture is rough, moderately coarse. 

Wood is moderately heavy, hard, resistible, resistant to insects, rotting. It tolerates moisture well and can rot when exposed to soil.
