Characteristics of wood
European (English) walnut grows in Eastern Europe and the western regions of Asia. The color of the heartwood varies from light pale brown to dark chocolate brown, with darker stripes. Hues are gray, red. The sapwood is almost white. The grains are usually straight, but can be irregular. The texture is medium with a moderate natural luster. Walnut wood is moderately resistant to insects, temperature extremes, moisture. It is recommended to apply for internal works.
A European (English) walnut lumber is highly dense and can be bent by steam. The material is glued, etched, treated with topcoats (although walnut is rarely treated with stain). The board is easy to handle manually and mechanically.
