Characteristics of wood

Mahogany is a heartwood breed with a pronounced narrow white sapwood, the structure is diffuse-porous. Color varies from brown to brown-red, with light annual rings. The medullar rays are weakly expressed, on a tangential sawn cut are located as horizontal stripes. The grain is large, frizzy. It refers to hard breeds with a high density, but not with good bending strength.
