Wood characteristics
Teak grows in South Asia, its wood has high strength, is durable, therefore it is universal in application. Color varies from golden to moderately brown, darkens over time. Hard and dense species, resistant to insects, rot, moisture, temperature. It has great workability, does not crack, and has good contact with metals. The high oil content makes it the most persistent among other woods, and also gives a natural luster.
