Characteristics of wood
African Walnut — a tree native to Western tropical Africa. The heartwood is yellow with golden or red hues. Over time, the color darkens. The sapwood is medium yellow or light gray, most often narrow, distinguishable from the heartwood. Grains are weakly interlocked, but sometimes they are straight. The texture is uniform, with a distinctive luster. The structure is diffuse-porous with pronounced pores, visible at the cut. Sometimes mineral deposits are found. Growth rings are unexpressed.
African Walnut lumber board refers to materials of medium durability to insects and other external factors. It is easily processed manually and mechanically. Well glues, processed by finishing coatings, suitable for turning works. It has a pleasant aroma similar to cedar. Suitable for indoor use.
