      Characteristics of wood<\/span><\/h2>\n

      Merbau<\/b> is a popular breed whose wood belongs to the group of solid. Grows in Southeast Asia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, on the islands of the Atlantic Ocean, in northern Queensland (Australia). It has high wear resistance due to excellent mechanical and physical properties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      It has a pleasant yellow-orange with a brown hue, which becomes deeper and reddish when becomes older. It clearly contrasts with the sapwood: white, pale yellow. The grains are interlocked and wavy, with a coarse even texture.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Without proper treatment, Merbau wood is susceptible to insect pests. Otherwise, it is a very durable breed, which is suitable for external and internal work. It is perfectly processed with dyes, stains, varnishes, polished, but gum can be released.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
